PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the updated website of The Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association. The Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association, which is also known as the Luzerne County Bar Association, is one of the oldest Bar Associations in the United States. The Association was chartered on June 16,1850.

The Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association presently has approximately 701 members. A list of the lawyers and judges belonging to the W-BLLA can be seen under the icon of “Membership.”

The members of the Association include trial attorneys, judges, government attorneys, public officials, corporate attorneys, and general practitioners. The Association's activities include offering continuing legal education, sponsoring community service programs, maintaining the County law library, and organizing social functions for our members.

Membership in the Association is available to any lawyer in good standing who is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has a principal office or residence in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. If you are interested in learning the benefits of membership, please contact us as set forth at the top of the page.

We hope that you share in the Association's excitement about the possibilities presented by the Internet and this Website. Should you have any comments or suggestions concerning the website, or if you wish to explore membership, please contact the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association.
